About the event
Farm. Feast. Fire.
The Story of Our Farmstead Revival…to a Destination Venue
Nestled in the right-to-farm community of Rehoboth, Massachusetts—a stone's throw from Providence, Rhode Island—is the heart and home of Gilded Tomato® Company. It is here at the c. 1845 Whittaker Peck Farmstead, that our chefs, gardeners, and beekeepers tend the gardens, orchard, and apiary that supply amazingly fresh and beautifully curated ingredients for Gilded Tomato's award-winning live-fire catering and private dinners.
After being gifted the family's personal memoir and farm ledgers, we were inspired to honor the property's rich agricultural history while embracing modern sustainability and regenerative practices.
Come Hungry. Leave Inspired.
Now, in 2026, our top-notch team has opened the farm to offer truly immersive learning experiences, coupled with unforgettable farm-to-fireside dinners during the summer and early fall seasons.
Many events are intentionally limited in size to provide personal guidance and attention. Ask questions freely, mix and mingle with fellow guests, and take home a treat, recipe, or even a sourdough starter to launch your own journey from aspiration to fruition. Groups are always welcome.
A special note about our magnificent Lakota Tipi replica: with its 26-foot poles, this impressive gathering place creates curiosity and conversation throughout the community. Beautifully furnished and overlooking a bucolic field at sunset, it provides an idyllic setting for photo shoots, customized private family or corporate dinners prepared by our talented chefs, and unforgettable surprise engagements.
Let's make it happen.
For guests traveling from a distance, we'll gladly provide recommendations for lodging, car rentals, and Uber or Lyft services. Amtrak service is available in Providence, and Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport is just 17 miles from the farm. We are conveniently located only 20 minutes from downtown Providence.
On-site parking is available. Detailed directions and arrival information will be provided upon registration.

Course Content
Sourdough has experienced a remarkable resurgence as home bakers and artisan bakeries embrace its complex flavor, superior shelf life, and easier digestibility. Discover the timeless craft of naturally leavened bread with Certified Artisan Baker Chef Jeff Alexander. You'll learn how to nurture a living sourdough starter, understand fermentation, shape beautiful rustic artisan loaves, and experience the incredible flavor and character that only wood-fired baking can provide.
You'll leave inspired—with your own sourdough starter—ready to continue the journey at home.
Chef Alexander will also demonstrate the creation of the classic German Bienenstich (Bee Sting Cake)—a rich brioche topped with a caramelized honey-almond crust and filled with silky pastry cream. The brioche will be prepared using professional techniques and finished in the wood-fired oven to create its signature golden crust.
From the aroma of naturally fermented dough and the wafting scent of hickory smoke to the sweetness of local honey and a slice of Bee Sting Cake, you're in for a truly sensory experience.
The connection between sustenance and sustainability continues with David Israel's Beekeeping Workshop.
Step into the fascinating world of honey bees with Certified Journeyman Beekeeper David Israel and discover why one out of every three bites of food depends on these remarkable pollinators. Meet our working hives, observe bees safely through a glass viewing window, taste honey harvested from the farm, and learn how thousands of tiny workers create one of nature's greatest wonders. Whether you're dreaming of starting your own apiary or are simply curious about the bees in your backyard, you'll leave with a newfound appreciation for these extraordinary insects.
If luck is on your side, you may even meet the 2026 Massachusetts Fattest Honey Bee Queen Champion! Our apiary is home to the winning queen recognized by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources. Why is having the "fattest" queen something to celebrate? Join us and find out.
The Bee-to-Bloom Adventure
Take a guided walk around the farm to discover the flowers, shrubs, and trees that provide nectar for Gilded Tomato's apiary. You'll receive a checklist of pollinator-friendly plants to help you create your own bee-friendly landscape at home.
Safety First
We'll review simple guidelines for enjoying a safe and harmonious visit with our friendly pollinators. Protective veils are available for anyone who would like to wear one.
